Privacy Policy
Grammar Pro ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Grammar Pro macOS application and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By using Grammar Pro, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Text You Submit
When you use AI-powered features such as grammar checking, paraphrasing, translation, summarization, dictionary lookup, email writing, or journal finding, the text you enter is sent from your Mac directly to OpenAI to generate results. We do not operate our own servers for AI processing. OpenAI processes your text on our behalf solely to deliver the requested functionality and is subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
1.2 Usage History
Grammar Pro may store a local history of your recent tool usage on your device to help you revisit past results. This history remains on your Mac unless you choose to clear it within the app settings.
1.3 Subscription Data
Subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store. We receive limited subscription information (such as subscription status and product identifiers) from Apple to manage your access to premium features. We do not collect or store your payment card details.
1.4 Local App Preferences
Grammar Pro stores certain settings and counters on your Mac (for example, theme preference, free-tier AI usage count, and rating-prompt state) using local device storage. This information is not transmitted to us or to third parties.
2. How We Use Your Information

- Process your text inputs and return AI-generated results
- Manage subscriptions and premium feature access
- Maintain local app preferences and usage limits on your device

4. Data Retention
Text you submit for AI processing is handled by OpenAI according to their retention practices. We do not maintain a separate copy on our own servers. Local history stored on your device can be deleted at any time through the app settings.
5. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards to ensure your data receives an adequate level of protection.
